Put a smile on your dentist’s face with these 2 amazing tips
12.02.2021
On Monday I had my 6 monthly visit to my holistic dentist. This is always an interesting experience for me, as I get some truly unbiased feedback on how my teeth and gums are doing.
When I first started seeing him some 10 years ago, my gums were starting to recede, and the enamel on my teeth had become eroded from years of overly enthusiastic brushing and too many rounds of lemon juice in water. I also had a crown where he suspected the tooth underneath had died (ie. the nerve had died, or was close to dying).
On Monday, he was extremely excited by what he was seeing, and told me so. My tooth under the crown has bounced back from near death through good dental hygiene. It’s the best he’s ever seen it. My gums have reversed their receding and the pockets are the smallest they’ve been. He even commented on how white my teeth are looking! Would you like to know what I’ve been doing? Here is my regime…
Put a smile on your dentist’s face with these 2 amazing tips
Its ingredients are: calcium carbonate, Bicarb of Soda, coconut oil, lecithin, xanthan gum, glycerin, xylitol and stevia, plus the therapeutic-grade essential oils of Peppermint, Spearmint, Ocotea and Thieves.
And you know what else? I also had my teeth cleaned by the hygienist while I was at the dentist. Even she was astounded, because my teeth were so clear of plaque. There were a couple of very tiny patches where I’d not brushed sufficiently, but the rest was spotless….and white!!!
Scroll down to read some AMAZING testimonials about the Thieves Whitening Toothpaste. You’ll be blown away by them, and it will show you why I was so compelled to try this toothpaste. This is definitely a product to put on your next Young Living order, just to try it!!! I know you’ll fall in love with it as much as I have. And it literally makes your teeth feel like they’ve been professionally polished, every time you brush with it. And of course I told my dentist about the Thieves Whitening Toothpaste, and sent him some information, and he’s keen as punch to try it out.
Check out this video from Young Living’s Chief Science Officer Dr. Mike Buch about the science of Thieves Whitening Toothpaste, and how it manages to whiten and polish your teeth without damaging the enamel in any way.
Adding Oil Pulling into my routine before each checkup
However, there is one other thing that I always do in the fortnight before a trip to the dentist, and that is “Oil Pulling”. This ancient Ayurvedic practice involves swirling a tablespoon of black sesame oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes as soon as you wake up, before you have any other food or water. Then you just spit it out (into the garden or a jar, not down the sink so you don’t clog your sink).
Oil pulling can also be done with coconut oil, which is what I prefer to use because of its lovely taste and anti-inflammatory properties.
And I always add 3 drops of Oregano oil into my coconut oil as a way of flavouring my Oil Pulling experience, and bringing all the wonderful benefits of Oregano oil into my mouth. Interested to know more about Oil Pulling? Check out this past bulletin that I’ve written on the topic:
