Collagen Peptide Serum

13.02.2026

beauty has always been something I love. I look out on nature and see the birds and the flowers, the sunsets and the mountain peaks, and it lights my heart.

I know that our own true beauty comes from the inside and radiates out. Everything we put in our body temple (the food we eat, the sunshine we bathe in, the fresh air we breathe, the joy and love we experience)…it all reflects in our outer radiance.

I’ve always prided myself on aging gracefully. I use all of these things above AND the power of therapeutic-grade essential oils and low-tox living to slow down those signs of aging. Yet I also love to source products that I can use topically on my skin to support everything that I’m doing from the inside out.

You can imagine my excitement when Young Living announced the release of their brand new Collagen Peptide Serum. Young Living lovingly refers to it as “reti-not”, because it has all the benefits of synthetic retinol (and more), but without the potentially harsh side effects.

Young Living Australia released this product at their recent New Year Kickoff event. I was so excited by what I learned there, that I can’t wait to share it with you. That’s what this week’s bulletin is all about. Enjoy!!!

Have you reached the Collagen Crash Zone?

What’s the Collagen Crash Zone? It’s that time which begins between the ages of 35 and 55, when our collagen levels go into a faster decline.

By age 40, most people have lost up to 20% of their collagen, and by age 50 it’s closer to 30%. As a woman, once you reach menopause that number increases at an even faster rate.

It’s this loss of collagen that causes our skin to weaken and begin to wrinkle, and to lose that youthful glow.

But Collagen loss isn’t just about wrinkles. It’s about skin structure, thickness, hydration, bounce….and even the appearance of your pores.

Having a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle and maintaining good hormone levels will all help slow this skin aging process, however it can’t entirely stop it simply because your skin ends up losing collagen faster than it can rebuild.

Is Retinol the answer?

When we look in the mirror and see those telltale crows’ feet and saggy skin….well, let’s just say that’s the time when we need a bucket load of Acceptance oil.

Aging is a natural process of life. However, it’s also natural to want to slow it down, so we can age as gracefully and beautifully as possible.

This is the time when many people reach for synthetic retinol. In fact, over 40% of women aged 40 and above have used retinol as part of their skincare routines for anti-aging benefits. Why? It’s because it works. Synthetic retinol reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fruit skin texture, fades hyperpigmentation.

Let’s unpack retinol, so you get the bigger picture.

Retinol is a member of the Vitamin A family. You might be thinking carrots, which are high in beta carotene. It’s true that your body can convert beta-carotene into Vitamin A, but this isn’t the most efficient source.

Before modern chemistry, Vitamin A was extracted from animal tissues, particularly cod liver oil, liver, egg yolk and butterfat. But it’s expensive to do this, so nowadays almost all retinol used in skincare is lab-manufactured Vitamin A, a synthetic molecule designed to be chemically identical to the Vitamin A our body uses.

Once we have natural or synthetic retinol in the body, it gets converted to retinal and then to retinoic acid.

It’s the retinoic acid which is biologically active, and tells skin cells to replace themselves faster, produce collagen, normalise pores and reduce the pigmentation signalling.

That all sounds good, right? And synthetic retinol is chemically identical to the retinol that our body makes.

So why do people react to it?

Retinol is known for “hurting while it works”. It can cause redness, flaking, sun sensitivity and irritation, among many other things.

This is where Collagen Peptide Serum comes in…

What if there was a cleaner and more sustainable way to age beautifully, where you could get the same results as retinol (in fact, better than retinol) without all those side effects?

Drum roll, please…….Young Living has done it again and created the most extraordinary and innovative product for us. Our new Collagen Peptide Serum visibly firms and smooths the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and supports firmer looking, deeply hydrated skin.

This Serum replenishes the skin’s critical building blocks, supporting natural collagen renewal at the same time that it delivers instant and long-lasting hydration.

This multi-tasking skincare treatment uses vegan collagen amino acids with peptides and sea fennel for “better than retinol” results, so that you can age gracefully without irritation and without those harsh chemicals.

What makes this serum so unique and powerful?

Let’s take a look inside the bottle. It has 5 incredible groups of ingredients:

1. Vegan Collagen Amino Acids + Peptides
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that serve as the building blocks for collagen, elastin and other skin proteins.

As we age, our skin structure becomes compromised. That’s when we see more fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin and larger skin pores.

Peptides act as messenger molecules in our skin. They bind to specific receptors on the surface of our skin cells, stimulating the production of extra collagen and elastin. It’s the extra collagen and elastin that helps our skin to maintain its integrity (ie. they are our anti-sagging and anti-wrinkling superstars).

Young Living’s new Collagen Peptide Serum features vegan collagen amino acids and peptides that are sustainably derived from microalgae.

These peptides work in harmony with hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate your skin for a firmer looking appearance.

This Peptide Complex not only optimises firmness and elasticity, it also feeds your skin for nourishment from within. How cool is that!!!

Check out these images below. This peptide-rich complex which is used in the Collagen Peptide Serum resulted in tighter, plumper looking skin in just 4 weeks!!!!

2. Sea Fennel – Nature’s answer to retinol

Sea fennel is incredible!!!! It offers many of the same benefits as retinol, but without that redness, peeling and sun sensitivity.

In a study of 30 participants aged 40 to 65, sea fennel was shown to enhance the appearance of skin brightness more effectively than retinol. It also out-performed synthetic retinol by reducing the appearance of crows’ feet by 16.5% in just 6 weeks.

Sea fennel is also rich in:

  • Antioxidants
  • Marine minerals, and
  • Bioavailable Vitamins A,C and E

Young Living’s sea fennel is harvested from a certified organic source on the Atlantic Coast. It helps renew the skin’s appearance and visibly supports elasticity. It is gentle enough for daily use, even for sensitive and reactive skin.

Sea fennel does not create sun sensitivity in the way that retinol does, and nor is it drying on the skin. In fact, it has all the benefits of retinol, but without the “ouch!”. Check out this chart!

3. Boswellic acids

Young Living’s Collagen Peptide Serum also contains skin-enhancing boswellic acids, which are extracted from Frankincense resin through their patent-pending DeepSpectra technology.

This technology is amazing!!! Instead of distilling Frankincense resin in water (which is what we do for our normal Frankincense and Sacred Frankincense oil, and it’s how Frankincense has been distilled for thousands of years), with the DeepSpectra Technology Young Living distils Frankincense resin in Frankincense oil.

This allows many more of the heavier life-enhancing compounds (like the boswellic acids) to be extracted from the plant, thus maximising the potency of the Frankincense

oil. This DeepSpectra Frankincense is available for individual sale in 5ml bottles, as well as being an ingredient in the new Collagen Peptide Serum.

Make sure you google to see the benefits of boswellic acids. These powerful plant compounds are rich in antioxidants, and help reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone.

4. Hydrating Botanical Blend

Here’s where the super-hydration comes in. This hydrating botanical blend of watermelon, lentil and apple extract works alongside the sunflower seed oil, sodium hyaluronate and squalene to plump and hydrate your skin.

5. Essential Oils

The Collagen Peptide Serum also contains 3 beautiful essential oils. They not only smell amazing, they are also renowned for their skin-loving benefits. All 3 of these oils bring benefits to all skin types. These are:

  • Royal Hawaiian Sandawood oil, which nourishes dry, dehydrated and mature skin, and reduces the appearance of blemishes allowing for a smoother complexion.
  • Rose oil, which helps to restore moisture balance in the skin for a natural glow, at the same time smoothing the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Ylang Ylang oil, which helps relax facial tension, softening and soothing the skin. This in turn helps support the appearance of healthy-looking skin, at the same time reducing the appearance of wrinkles and premature aging.
