I think of you so often, even though you are far away. I have always enjoyed my time with you at the various events that have brought us together. I feel deep gratitude for the leadership you bring to Young Living. You play a crucial role in leading the field and driving the growth of this business, and I want you to know that I recognise your contribution and am grateful for the work, time, and dedication you invest in your business.

In the office we often discuss how we can help you grow. During a recent discussion, I learned that many of you feel so much respect for Gary and the oils that you may hesitate to also share the amazing business opportunity Young Living offers. I, too, have immense respect and gratitude for our essential oils and for all of the products Gary created.

Many years ago, when Gary and I were first building Young Living, he often spoke about how the oils increase spiritual awareness, give us a greater connection to creative power, and help us build self-confidence and believe in ourselves. Because they are gifts from God through His creation of the plants, flowers, and trees, Gary often reminded us to respect the oils and be grateful for them.

Gary was a very spiritual person and loved teaching people how to reach their highest potential by taking care of their bodies and being aware of how their daily attitude and actions affect their lives.

I understand that using oils to earn money could feel disrespectful. However, money is not inherently good or evil; it is what we do with that money that matters. Money is the medium of exchange in our world, and we need it for everything we do.

There is a big difference between using money to deceive and hurt people and using it to help people and better our world. What would you do if you didn’t have money to pay your bills, pay for your children’s education, or even buy products for yourself? How many people in the world don’t have enough money for food or for shelter from the cold of winter? It is not about making money; it is about how we use the money we make.

How many people would be so happy to have just a little bit more money for the things they need in life? It is not about living in a big house, driving a flashy car, or having all the unnecessary things that some wealthy people like to brag about. It’s about taking care of our families and helping others in need.

There is nothing more rewarding than earning an income by selling fabulous products like ours, which benefit our lives in so many ways. It’s the best of both worlds.

Gary chose the network marketing model for Young Living because he knew how important education was—when people don’t know how to use a product or what it is for, they simply won’t use it. He also understood that it takes a lot of time to sell and educate others about our products, especially essential oils, which are only now beginning to be recognised for the value they can add to a person’s life.

How could we afford to spend time sharing and educating if we weren’t compensated for that time? This business model is wonderful because it gives us the freedom to work on our own schedule and be the masters of our daily activities. Many of you are mothers with children at home, and network marketing is an ideal way for you to earn some extra money for your families.

Some of you may know that I am writing a book about Gary’s life. It covers his childhood, Young Living’s early history, and what he went through to build what we have today. I would like to share with you what he wrote in 1988, when he first started, because his vision for Young Living never changed.

“We proclaim and declare our truth as that of peace, joy, love, humility, deep purpose, prosperity, and health. We proclaim our truth for those who choose to embrace the same and allow it to become part of their lives.

“Network marketing brings people together to share in the profit of their collective sales. They can market, teach, and create their own business, but they also share in the financial benefits of that business. Network marketing is still the greatest free-enterprise system we have in our world today, and it is the greatest way we can educate and be examples to people everywhere in the world, offering the same great opportunity to all people so they can be free, and that’s why I love it.

“The greatest dream I had from the very beginning was to see a company where the members were healthy, vibrant, alive, excited, and prosperous. When you lack prosperity, you often lose your vision. We buy into a system that tells us we are not good enough or that we don’t deserve to be successful, but that is not God’s way.

“Prosperity comes in many ways and dimensions. Each one of us must decide what it is for us, but I want our people to experience true health. I want them to have hope and to know that they can be prosperous in their lives if that is their desire.”

Gary was so passionate about sharing his research on the oils and his knowledge of how to live a healthy life that he rarely had time to talk about the business. He left that to us—to you, and to me. I have said from stage many times that money in the hands of good people does good things.

There is so much good that needs to be done to combat the negative and the bad in this world. Yes, we can express our feelings through words, but we also have our oils, which come directly from God’s creations, our supplements infused with our oils, and not just any oils—oils from our own farms, which many of you have visited.

Let’s work together and help others see the vision of what can be theirs. All it takes is speaking out and teaching others how they can participate in this business opportunity and help us take our message of health and wellness to the world. Millions of people need a little more income, but they won’t have that opportunity if we don’t share it with them.

I love network marketing because I love seeing people grow and achieve more than they thought possible. Before I discovered Young Living, I built a business in a different company for 10 years, and I was thrilled when I saw people emerge from financial scarcity. It is so much fun working together, but it is only fun when everyone is making money, which is possible with our type of business.

Gratitude was our first Blend of the Month, and gratitude is the foundation for prosperity. I am grateful for all of you, for your abilities, and your desire to be part of this great movement. It is fitting that Abundance is our next Blend of the Month, for October and November. Gary formulated this blend to help us on our quest to bring abundance into our lives and to create a better world.

October is going to be a fun month because of all the activities surrounding enrolment and the competitions between markets and individual organizations. Let’s all join in and take advantage of the opportunity to share and introduce new people to our Young Living family. Share more, enrol more, teach more and experience the joy of enriching another person’s life making, the world a better place, one family at a time.
