I’ve just clocked over my 22 year anniversary with Young Living. I’ve been using and loving their products since September 1998. And in those early days Gary Young, the Founder of Young Living, used to give us a lot of tips on how to stay healthy.
One thing he was very strong on educating about was the importance of maintaining an alkaline pH in our body. Our Western diet contains so many things that are acid-forming, that we are pushing our body in that direction…and an acidic pH in the body paves the way for disease.
So in addition to cutting out sugar, red meat, processed foods and alcohol, Gary also encouraged us to eliminate coffee from our diet. He always told us that one cup of coffee spiked cortisol levels for most of the day…and cortisol is often referred to as our “death” or aging hormone.
Now, I know you may absolutely love your coffee….and I’m not here to tell you that you can’t have it. But I do want to share with you 3 different stories that will show you how you can use coffee and have really great results.
The Coffee Experiment – this is AMAZING!!!!
I was never quite sure who undertook this experiment. I know in the early days Gary had a radionics machine, and he used it to measure the frequency of the human body and essential oils. I therefore suspect that this was a study Gary himself initiated, or would have had a very strong interest in.
So there were two men, both with a resting body frequency of 66Mz. One of them was given a cup of coffee to smell. As soon as he did this, his frequency dropped from 66 to 58Mz. What does this mean? When our frequency lowers, it means we then attract experiences to match that frequency. Lower frequency = more challenges, more frustrations, less energy. You know those days when nothing seems to flow? That’s often a sign of a dip in frequency.
This man was then given an essential oil to sniff, and his frequency went back up to 66Mz over a period of 21 seconds. In other words, the essential oil helped his frequency to rebound so that he could remain positive, enthusiastic, and see his glass as full rather than empty.
The second man was given a cup of coffee to drink. His frequency dropped from 66 to 54 MHz, ie. even more dramatic than the first man. He was not given any oils to sniff, and it took 3 days for his frequency to return to 66MHz.
So what’s the moral of this story? If you are saying “don’t drink coffee”, well I can’t disagree with you there. However, to me the moral of this story is this:
In our life, we encounter things that lower our frequency, and things that raise our frequency.
Essential oils, crystals, music, meditation and prayer are all things that raise our frequency, and help us to stay positive, vibrant and healthy.
So regardless of what your vice is, make sure you are using essential oils to help keep your frequency high, so that you can optimise your state of health, energy and youthfulness….and attract the good in all things.
And essential oils change and uplift our state of mind and our body frequency very effectively and quickly….often more so than the other tools available to us, so they are my tool of choice in any challenging situation.
Enrich your Garden with Coffee Grounds
Coffee has an acidifying effect on the body when ingested, but that doesn’t make coffee beans bad for us. In fact, they are wonderful in garden beds.
Coffee grounds are high in potassium and nitrogen, which is great for the soil. And their high carbon content also helps feed the soil. Just make sure you mix them with other organic matter such as manure or compost, because on their own they can be too acidic to be used straight on the garden….unless you are using them on your acid-loving plants like hydranges, rhododendrons, azaleas, lily of the valley, blueberries, carrots, and radishes. These plants get a real boost from fresh (unbrewed) coffee grounds, which are more acidic than your used coffee grounds.
Did you know that Gary Young used to love using DiGize oil blend mixed into his soil on the Young Living farms? He especially would do that if he encountered soil that had previously had chemicals used on it. The DiGize oil did a wonderful job of helping to break down those chemicals in the soil, returning the soil to a more natural state.
So why not mix 20 drops of DiGize essential oil with your used (or fresh) coffee grounds, then dilute with some compost or manure, and mix this energy-rich super-nutrient through your garden beds?
Mint Slice Body Scrub (recipe by Billy M.)
Coffee is also wonderful when used on our body to make an all-over body scrub. Check out this amazing coffee and essential oil recipe:
• 1 tablespoon ground coffee
• 1 tablespoon raw sugar
• 2 tablespoons coconut oil
• 1-2 drops of Young Living Peppermint oil
Mix them together and use this all over the body, avoiding sensitive areas and the face.
P.S. If you have a coffee machine, you can use spent coffee from that straight away all over your body (it doesn’t keep), and have an amazing awakening shower!
A Delicious Coffee Substitute (recipe by Domenica T.)
For those of you who (like me) either don’t have a taste for coffee, or want to reduce or eliminate your coffee intake, check out this wonderful recipe for a coffee substitute.
• Macadamia milk, heated on the stove
• 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 1 drop of Young Living Cinnamon Bark oil
• 1 teaspoon honey
• 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Place all the ingredients into the heated macadamia milk and mix over the stove. Ammmmazzzing!!!
