Have you ever given Raindrop Technique to a baby goat?

12.05.2025

I’ve just spent 5 beautiful days at the Fuller Life Centre in Bali. I can’t wait to tell you all about it, but that story will have to wait because something special happened while I was there, and that’s the topic for this week’s bulletin.

I’m sooooo grateful that I know about essential oils, and their many benefits to body, mind, emotions and Spirit.

When I travel, I always face that difficult task of choosing which essential oils to take away with me. Of course I need essential oils for my skin, to help me relax and sleep well (both on and off planes), and oils for tight muscles and for emotional balancing, and so much more.

On this trip, I took 49 oils away with me. Yes, you did hear me right!!! That’s my “small number of oils” that I’m traveling with, some in my hand luggage and some in my checked-in luggage. These 49 oils include the oils for my 7 Oil Ritual which I practise every day, and it also includes a full Raindrop Technique kit. My Raindrop Kit came in very handy on this trip, to help a baby goat in need. Enjoy the read!

Fuller Life Bali

Fuller Life Bali is the inspiration of Frances Fuller, a Young Living Royal Crown Diamond.

Frances has a heart that’s bigger than Bali itself. She and I both joined Young Living in 1998, and we’ve met at many Gary Young seminars over the years.

Frances is a joy-filled 82 year old who looks like she’s in her 60’s. She’s a wonderful testament to the Young Living lifestyle. She spends her days helping the staff who run Fuller Life Bali, providing them with tools and support so they can offer outstanding oil-infused treatments to the many people who travel there for some R&R and a health-kick.

Fuller Life Bali is also home to a small family of goats and cows, who are used to produce manure for the gardens.

Their manure is collected, fermented and mixed with essential oils like DiGize and Thieves, before it’s filtered into a rich compost that is used to nourish the fields.

Virtually everything that the guests eat is grown on site, so the gardens here are diverse and spectacular.

Baby Rose

On my first day here, Frances asked a favour of me. She knows I love animals, and she asked for my help to take a look at a little goat that’s only a month old, who was born prematurely. This goat is “Baby Rose”. Frances was worried about her front right leg, and wanted to know my thoughts.

Baby Rose’s mother (Jasmine) fell pregnant to father Frank (Frankincense) when she was still quite young herself. Also living with them is Jasmine’s older sister Sandy (Sandalwood), who is pregnant herself.

When I arrived to check out Baby Rose, it was an interesting scene. Jasmine had gone on heat again, so Frank and Jasmine were in the middle of a mating frenzy, while Baby Rose sat in the corner and cried for food.

I’m so grateful to have been here at the right place and the right time.

I noticed that Baby Rose’s eyes are a pale blue, so I’m pretty sure she’s fully or partially blind. Because of this, she can’t get to her mother in order to feed. That first day, Baby Rose was so weak she was unable to stand for more than 30 seconds. I’d pick her up to check her legs, but she’d flop back down on the floor again. When she did stand, it was obvious she was favouring both her front and rear right legs, unable to put full pressure on them.

There were two obvious areas of need for Baby Rose

The first is the need for food.

We separated Jasmine and Frank long enough to give Baby Rose a chance to feed…but Jasmine kicked her away. Even after 5 days, Baby Rose still requires human intervention to feed. We carry her to her Mum, we hold up one of Jasmine’s rear legs so she has to balance on one leg (that prevents her from kicking Baby Rose away), and we allow Baby Rose to suckle. We did try bottled goats milk, but once we found the knack of having her feed directly from her Mum, that is obviously the better solution.

I’ve made sure the farm hands at Fuller Life Bali know the importance of Baby Rose getting multiple feeds a day, and they’re reporting back to Frances with beautiful videos showing Baby Rose enjoying some life-giving nourishment. She LOVES her feeds!!!

For the first couple of days that I was here, she was crying a lot with hunger. But the last couple of days, she’s so much more contented with a happy belly. Check out this video of her feeding….it’s so beautiful to see.

Kambing Raindrop

With the first problem solved, the second need was for some bodywork for Baby Rose’s right legs.

The Indonesian word for goat is “Kambing”, so I decided to give Baby Rose a version of “Kitty Raindrop”, which I’m calling a “Kambing Raindrop”.

This is a simplified version of Raindrop Technique that can be administered by someone who’s not trained in the full Raindrop Technique.

In my case, I chose Kambing Raindrop (rather than a full Raindrop Technique) because it’s something that can be given to Baby Rose every day by the practitioners and farm hands here.

It’s quick and easy to make up the mix, and it takes only 5 minutes to give this to Baby Rose (compared to 30 to 45 minutes for a full Raindrop Technique). It’s the perfect solution to ensure she gets the TLC she needs on a daily basis.

So what is Kitty Raindrop?

This was first developed for cats, and it’s sooooooo simple. In a tablespoon of Young Living’s V6 oil, you add 2 drops of each of your Raindrop Technique oils – that’s Valor, Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Wintergreen, Marjoram, Aroma Siez and Peppermint. Then you just drizzle some of that mix up the spine, and massage it in. Usually 1/3 of that mix (ie.1/3 of a tablespoon) is enough for one Kitty Raindrop on a cat, whereas you’d use ½ of the mix for a mid-sized animal, and the full amount of mix on a large animal (like a horse or an adult human).

Above is the recipe and proportions we use for cats, because they are highly sensitive to essential oils. Here’s how you would adapt it to other animals:

  • Guinea Pig or Rat: 1 drop of each of the Raindrop oils in 1-2 tbsp V6 (use ¼ of that mix up their spine, as they’re so small)
  • Cats: 2 drops of each of the Raindrop oils in 1 tbsp V6
  • Small dogs and children who are toddlers: 4 drops of each of the Raindrop oils in 1 tbsp V6
  • Large dogs and teenage children: 6 drops of each of the Raindrop oils in 1 tbsp V6
  • Adult Humans and Horses: 8 drops of each of the Raindrop oils in 1 tbsp V6

The oils are life-enhancing and invigorating to the body, providing much needed energy and vitality, whereas the massage component of Raindrop Technique provides targeted support to the areas of muscular pain.

Giving Kambing Raindrop to Baby Rose

For Baby Rose, I had decided to work with the same strength I’d use for a small dog. So in 1 tbsp V6, I added 4 drops of each of the Raindrop Technique oils, and we have been using half of that mix (ie. half a tablespoon) on her spine each day. We drizzle it up the spine, and massage it in, putting extra attention as we massage around her right front and rear legs.

It’s been a simple enough process, and even Aunty Sandy has joined in the fun.

The very first day I worked on Baby Rose, Sandy kissed me on the forehead. She knew I was there to help, and she stood protectively over Baby Rose, showing the maternal instincts that have been lacking in Rose’s Mum.

Now, Sandy comes and nibbles my trousers or kisses and licks my forehead as I’m working on Baby Rose…she’s even started licking the oils straight off my fingers (check out this video!!!).

It was interesting to see the changes in Baby Rose over the 5 days that I was there. To give some context, here’s a video of my first Kambing Raindrop on her. It was my first evening at Fuller Life, and I was working by torchlight with the help of one of the farm hands. We’d tied up Mumma Jasmine and Father Frank, but their hormones were still running high (you’ll hear Frank snorting away in the background of the video).

Rose’s little tail was wiggling like crazy every time I rubbed her rear right leg. It showed me that the area was feeling pretty tender.

This next video was taken on Day 2, after Baby Rose’s second Kambing Raindrop. She’s standing up for most of this video, and you can clearly see how she’s favouring her right legs (ie. they’re pretty weak).

The transformation in Baby Rose

The change in Baby Rose after just 5 days has been heart-warming. On day 1, she could barely stand. Now, on day 5 she’s standing for much longer.

The extra nutrition she’s getting from the multiple feeds a day is helping sooooooo much.

Mumma Jasmine is becoming more tolerant of the feeding process, although we still need to hold up one of her legs as she becomes impatient around feeding Baby Rose, and still wants to kick her away.

As for the Kambing Raindrop – Rose had been bleating as I’d massage around her legs.

Clearly they were quite sore. But as the days have gone by, the bleating has stopped. She’s still favouring those right legs, but she’s able to stand up and walk around on her legs much more than she could on Day 1, so the improvement is significant.

She’s stlll a work in progress, but she’s responding really well to the TLC, love and massage…..and of course the oils are helping her on an emotional and energetic level as well.

Today on Day 5 after her feed and Kambing Raindrop, Baby Rose flaked out on the ground sound asleep while Aunty Sandy watched over her. I snapped this cute pic (see above) of the two of them together.

One of the other guests at Fuller Life Bali has been an amazing support this past few days. He’s fallen in love with Baby Rose as much as I have, and has been helping me with the Kambing Raindrop and with the massage and cuddles. We both recognised how much Baby Rose was starved not only for food, but also for love and touch. Watch how she responds as he give her some special love and TLC….

PS. Now that I’ve left Bali….

As I write this final paragraph, I’m now in Sri Lanka, on the next phase of my travels. Today, I was sent this video of the Fuller Life staff giving Kambing Raindrop to Baby Rose. It’s wonderful that they can continue to support her in this way. I can’t wait to see how far we can take her health and happiness quotient through this regular care with Kambing Raindrop and good nutrition.
