Here are 9 oils you are about to fall in love with!
16.01.2026
I trust you’ve had the most wonderful festive season, spending time with family and loved ones, and making the most of your essential oils.
Did you also create wonderful oil-infused treats for the family, and uplifting Christmas scents in your diffuser?
I love how Young Living weaves itself into every area of our life. In fact, every essential oil has multiple uses, not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually.
In a recent bulletin, I shared why I love Raindrop Technique so much. It’s such a powerful essential-oil-infused modality, created by the founder of Young Living, D. Gary Young. It’s truly a master technique, impacting our body in such a holistic way. My motto has always been “No matter what transformation you are seeking in your body, receive a Raindrop Technique.”
Even if you’re not trained in the full Raindrop Technique, it’s possible to give a mini Raindrop Technique to yourself and your loved ones (both human and animal).
Click here to learn how to do a mini Raindrop Technique, and to watch me giving a kitty Raindrop to an elderly cat, and a doggy Raindrop to a dog. They loved it!!!
What if you want to get even more value from your Raindrop Technique kit? That’s what today’s bulletin is all about. Young Living’s Raindrop Kit contains oils that you will fall in love with in their own right. Let’s do a deep dive into the contents of the Raindrop Kit, to see what amazing gifts are there for you. Enjoy!
My favourite uses for the Raindrop Technique Kit
V6 Massage Oil

Love massaging your partner and children? V6 is a beautiful light massage oil that spreads with ease. Add your favourite essential oils into it, to create your very own signature aromas.
You can also use V6 to create your own roll-on mix. Add 10-20 drops of your favourite essential oils into a 10ml roll-on bottle, and top up with V6.
And if ever you put a hot oil somewhere it wasn’t designed to go (eg. you touched your eyelids), simply put some V6 over the skin and the heat settles down within 30 to 60 seconds.
Valor Oil

This is our rescue remedy of essential oils, using the same oils that the Roman Soldiers wore into battle. It’s the perfect oil to balance your energy field for a big day ahead, at the same time giving you strength and courage to tackle whatever the day throws at you. With the same frequency as our skeleton, it inspires us to come into energetic and physical alignment.
Send your kids and your partner to sleep with this beautiful bedtime ritual of a Valor Balance: Place 3 drops into your right palm, and rub 3 times clockwise
under your recipient’s right root. Then place 3 drops into your left palm, and rub this 3 times clockwise under their left foot. Then hold with your left hand under their left foot, and your right hand under their right foot (not squeezing, just a gentle hold). If they are face up, that means your arms will be crossed. Hold like that for 5 to 10 minutes, and they’ll be deeply relaxed if not asleep by the end of the Valor Balance.
Oregano Oil

Oregano oil is a wonderful culinary oil to add to any dish that calls for fresh oregano. For example, here’s my favourite popcorn recipe, which makes enough for 2 people for a large serving, or 8 people for a small taster:
Artemis’s Scrumptious Oregano Popcorn

- Heat 2 tbsp of coconut oil in a large saucepan on medium heat
- Add 1 cup of popcorn into the oil and stir
- Put lid on saucepan
- The corn will begin popping once the oil becomes hot
- You want it hot enough to pop, but not so hot that it burns the popcorn (it’s a fine balance, so keep a close eye on the pot)
- Turn off the heat once the popping has stopped, and pour the contents into a large bowl
Melting the butter or coconut oil
- While the popcorn is cooking, gently melt 100g of butter in a second saucepan (don’t over-heat)
- If any of your guests are vegan or can’t have butter, you can substitute 100g of coconut oil instead
- Once melted, turn off the heat and add 5 drops of Oregano oil to the butter or coconut oil
- Pour the melted butter or coconut oil over the popcorn, and mix well
- Add salt to taste, and serve hot
Alternative flavours
- Experiment with other flavours if you wish
- Instead of Oregano oil, you could try Lemon Myrtle or Thyme oil instead, or make a sweeter mix with Cinnamon Bark and Nutmeg oil mixed with a natural sweetener like coconut nectar or coconut sugar
Oil Pulling
Oregano oil can also be used as a flavouring when you’re doing oil pulling. Oil pulling is an Ayurvedic technique which helps to address inflammation and disease of the teeth, gums, mouth and sinuses. I love to add 3 drops of Oregano oil into my coconut oil (or sesame oil), and swirl that around my mouth for 20 minutes as soon as I get up, before drinking any water. Be sure not to spit it down the sink when you’re finished (so it doesn’t coagulate there)…and rinse your mouth out afterwards. The coconut or sesame oil has just pulled a whole lot of toxins, bacteria and other nasties out of your mouth.
Important note about Culinary Oils:
In this blog, when I talk about culinary oils, be aware that different countries have different rules. Whilst it’s exactly the same oil in the bottle as what’s in your Raindrop Kit, if you live in the UK/EU you’d use the Plus oil as your flavouring agent, and if you live in the US you’d use the Vitality oil.
Peppermint

Here’s another of my favourite oils. Yes, it’s another of our culinary oils. I confess I’m a sucker for a hot chocolate, so I love to add a drop to my hot chocolate. If that’s too strong for you, put some on a toothpick and swirl it through your hot chocolate. It’s also amazing to add to melted or home-made chocolate. What a minty flavour sensation!
Peppermint is incredible at keeping us energised and helping with concentration, so put 12 drops of Lemon oil and 3 drops of Peppermint oil into your diffuser anytime you need to focus on a mental task.
You’ll be amazed at how effortlessly you can focus when you’re breathing in this mix.
I also have a favourite recipe for use around my home. Add a tablespoon of Thieves Cleaner to a 500ml PET plastic or glass spray bottle. Then add 15 to 30 drops of Peppermint oil into the bottle. Then top up with water. I’m such a fan of the invigorating smell of Peppermint that I go the full 30 drops. This is what I use to mop my floors with, and it leaves my home feeling so fresh and clean (both physically and energetically).
Thyme Oil

Thyme oil is another wonderful culinary oil, which can be used in dishes that call for thyme as a fresh herb. Whenever you’re using essential oils as a flavouring agent, start with one drop and build up to taste. Sometimes even one drop can be too much, and (just as I shared with Peppermint) you may need to start with a toothpick dipped in the essential oil, and swirled into your salad dressing or other dish.
Thyme oil is also amazing on an emotional level. It is the perfect choice for anyone who is plagued with self-doubt and pessimism, causing them to energetically withdraw from the world.
Thyme oil helps to emotionally open the chest and heart. Its virile strength helps us to come out of our shell and face the world with renewed vigour and self-confidence.
Wintergreen Oil

Did you know that your bones are 52 MHz in frequency? That’s the same frequency as Wintergreen oil, meaning it loves bones. So this is the oil to rub on your fingers, your toes, your joints, your spine, and any other bones that are calling out for some TLC. Wintergreen oil is high in methyl salicylate, a natural plant compound which is similar to salicylic acid found in Aspirin. It’s also very relaxing and stress relieving.
Spiritually, it stimulates and increases awareness across all of our senses. So add it to your diffuser mixed with other favourite oils, and notice what changes in your world.
Basil Oil

Here’s yet another culinary oil. Yes, I think it’s fair to say that after receiving a Raindrop Technique, you come out smelling like a pizza! So in place of using fresh Basil in your salad dressings, soups and hot pots, try a very small amount of Basil oil instead.
It’s a very protective herb, as well as having some romantic properties. In fact, the Hindu people placed basil sprigs on the chests of the dead to protect them from evil spirits, and Italian women wore basil to attract potential suitors.
But mostly, Basil oil is amazing for tight muscles (rubbed straight onto the muscle). It’s also great for mental fatigue. Simply add it to your diffuser to help rejuvenate your tired mind.
Cypress Oil

Cypress oil has the same frequency as our circulatory system, so I love rubbing it on my legs or even on my heart. In fact, it’s the primary ingredient in Young Living’s Aroma Life oil blend. But what’s most fascinating is its emotional and spiritual properties.
Cypress oil helps us to accept the things that are happening in our life, and to let go with greater ease. That’s so important in life. How often does life throw us curved balls, so that we’re having to adapt or modify our plans. When we’re so attached to the outcome, this can be emotionally challenging…and that’s where Cypress oil comes to the rescue.
It’s also an amazing oil for any type of internal emotional roadblock. It helps us to unearth the fears that block our ability to change, allowing us to adapt and flow in new directions.
Marjoram Oil

Oh my goodness, I love Marjoram. This is a herb that was cultivated by the Ancient Egyptians. As a fascinating fact, they dedicated Marjoram to their crocodile god, Sobek (who was the son of Neith, the Great Mother).
In addition to being another of our culinary oils, Marjoram oil has the same frequency as our smooth muscle tissue, so it’s another one of the oils contained in our Aroma Life oil blend. Apply it (or Aroma Life) to your heart and your belly, as both the heart and intestines are comprised of smooth muscle tissue and love Marjoram.
In Ancient Greece, Marjoram was a funeral herb. It was planted on the graves of loved ones, to bring peace to the person who had passed over. Yet it also helped the living to come to terms with the deep loss of the loved one. It’s especially beautiful when combined with Cypress, Rose or Geranium oil.
If you feel alone and unsupported in the world, wondering if anyone cares, then this is the oil to reach for. Allow it to pour its warmth and affection onto you, to melt that sad heart.
Aroma Siez Oil

This blend is like a Raindrop Technique in a bottle. Formulated by Gary Young in 1992, it contains Basil, Marjoram, Lavender, Peppermint and Cypress. Four of these 5 oils are found in the Raindrop Kit. Gary made Aroma Siez for himself, to relax, calm and relieve tight muscles. Add it to some V6 for a full body massage, or rub it neat onto any tight muscles so they can relax and let go.
