In the mood for romance…

Valentine’s Day gifts do not always have to be material. If your partner’s love language is acts of service, a romantic massage would surely be an appreciated gift? Or maybe your Valentine’s Day gift is simply to spend quality time together with your loved one. Let the following list inspire you and give you some ideas on how to bring the romance of Valentine’s Day into your home with the help of Young Living Essential Oils.

Eye Gazing

  • Fill a beautiful bowl with water, and add 3 drops of Gratitude oil. Sit on either side of the bowl, facing each other. If you are doing this exercise with yourself, have a mirror in front of you, and the bowl with water between you and the mirror.

  • Begin with some Eye Gazing. Look into each other’s eyes (or into your own eyes in the mirror), for 2 to 5 minutes. Do your best not to look away – instead, just relax into the experience of being truly “seen” by someone who loves you, no matter what. Decide on the amount of time before you start, and set a timer.
  • When the timer goes off, break your gaze and breathe deeply.

What I love about you….

  • Decide who will go first for this next step (let’s imagine that’s you). You dip your hands into the fragrant water bowl, swirl your hands 3 times clockwise to activate the water and oil, and then place your palm on your partner’s heart chakra (centre of the chest)….or if you prefer, hold your partner’s hands in yours.
  • Then tell your ‘special someone’ what you most love and appreciate about them.
  • Now it’s time to swap over, and have your partner do the same for you. If you are doing this looking into a mirror, you can do this exercise twice, once acknowledging what you love and appreciate about your adult self, and the second time acknowledging what you love and appreciate about your inner child.

The Power of Touch

  • What could be more romantic than treating your partner to a relaxing massage? Use Young Living‘s Sensation Massage oil during a hand, foot or full body massage, to leave your partner’s skin feeling smooth and silky while inviting a deep and loving connection of mind, body and Spirit.

Adding Sizzle and Spice to your Lovemaking

  • Place a drop of Sensation oil on the sacral chakra of both yourself, and your partner. The sacral chakra is located approximately 5cm (one hand’s width) below the navel). This beautiful blend has an enticing scent, combining feminine essential oils such as Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Geranium, Bergamot and Coriander to add a little romance. This is an amazing oil blend to place here before lovemaking. It brings our awareness to our sexuality, which heightens our orgasms.

  • Place a drop of Shutran oil on each other’s heart before lovemaking. Gary Young said that he created Shutran for men, but so the chemical constituents in Shutran would attract a woman! So really it is for women, too. Shutran is a blend of exotic and rare oils including Idaho Blue Spruce, Ocotea, Ylang Ylang, Hinoki, Coriander, Davana, Lavender, Cedarwood, Lemon, and Northern Lights Black Spruce. These oils work together to harmonise both male and female energy. Give it a try!

Drink in the Love

Blue Mule Mocktail

Is it even a celebration if you don’t have an ice-cold drink in your hand? We think not. Valentines Day calls for a tall glass of something fun, fizzy, and flavourful. Check out this DIY Valentine’s Day mocktail the whole family can enjoy. A Recipe for Love…Hazelnut Cacao Truffles with Rose oil

What better way to invite love than to give love? These Hazelnut Cacao Truffles with Young Living Rose oil are a taste sensation for your lips….why not feed them to each other, over a glass of Blue Mule?

(Thank you to Iselin Stoylen for the creation of this mouth-watering recipe, adapted by Artemis to include essential oils. Pic credit to Iselin Stoylen.)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of hazelnuts
  • ⅓ cup almond butter
  • ⅓ cup raw cacao powder
  • 6 pitted Medjool dates
  • 2 tbsp of raw organic coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp of natural sweetener eg. coconut nectar
  • ½ tsp of vanilla powder
  • ⅓ tsp of sea salt
  • 2 drops Young Living Rose oil

For the chocolate coating:

One bar of raw dark chocolate (melted on low heat) or make your own (see recipe below). Decorate with fresh or dried rose petals.

Process the hazelnuts in a food processor until you get a super-fine flour. Add all other ingredients except the dates, and continue to process until well mixed. Add the dates and keep processing until the mixture starts sticking together. Scrape the sides of the bowl as needed during the mixing process.

Press the dough into a lined tin so that it’s 1.5 to 2cm in thickness, and freeze for at least an hour. Remove the block from the tin and slice into bite-sized pieces. Dip each piece into melted chocolate and place on a plate covered with baking paper. Decorate with rose petals. Sit chocolates in the fridge for 30 minutes before eating. Store in an airtight container in the freezer. Makes 20 truffles.

Raw Chocolate Dipping Sauce by Artemis

  • 120g of raw cacao butter
(often sold in the shape of “buttons”)
  • 2 tbsp of organic coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp of coconut nectar (or natural sweetener of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of sea salt
  • 2/3 cup raw cacao powder

Crumble the raw cacao butter in a food processor. Add coconut oil, and melt in a Thermomix or similar at 45 degrees Celsius (115 degrees Fahrenheit) on speed 1. Alternatively, place in a glass or stainless steel bowl over boiling water, stirring until melted.

Add remaining ingredients and whisk or blend until smooth.

Even though this recipe is great for dipping your Hazelnut Cacao Truffles into, it also allows you to make your own raw chocolates by adding your essential oil of choice and pouring into moulds, then putting in the fridge to set.
