Have you ever wondered what Young Living products to take on a holiday?
1.05.2026
I’ve been having such a fun time on my trip to Europe. I ran a full day event in Belgium, then did a road tour through Iceland where I conducted 4 events in different parts of Iceland. What a beautiful way to see the country! Then of course I’ve been on a cruise with Young Living for our annual Diamond Retreat. Check out the pics below 🙂
Every single day, I’m grateful for the Young Living products I’ve brought with me.
There’s always someone in need (including myself), and I seem to have the right oils and products on hand for pretty much any situation.
In my last post, I shared about which products I always take with me in my hand luggage on any flight or overseas trip. Today, I want to focus on the oils and other products that I pack in my checked-in luggage, and why.
But first, let me share some of my highlight pics with you, so you feel like you’re here with me. Enjoy!

What I take in my checked in luggage

1. Supercharging my energy levels
The Red Drink is something I never go without, whether I’m at home or away. It’s part of every day for me, so I always travel with my NingXia Red sachets, Lime oil and Sulfurzyme caps packed in my check-in luggage.
I packed a box of 30 sachets for my trip.
Normally that would be enough for 2 Red Drinks per day for 30 days…however, because traveling puts stress on our body (from the time zone changes, to being exposed to a lot EMFs and wanting to keep myself super healthy throughout), I prefer to have 2 sachets a day. I was fortunate that Lilja in Iceland had a spare box I could buy from her. Thanks Lilja!
2. Being proactive in order to stay healthy
When we travel, we expose our body to a whole lot of stressors it’s not used to….including different bacteria and viruses along the way. It’s helpful to give our body that bit of extra support to stay healthy while travelling. One great option for this is Young Living’s Inner Defense capsules. These capsules contain Thieves oil, as well as Oregano, Thyme and Lemongrass oil, mixed in a coconut oil base. Take 2 a day while travelling, for that added protection.

Information for our US Members…
Every country has different Government regulations around what we can say about our Young Living products. The following information is specifically for our US members.
When you are travelling, instead of taking Inner Defense capsules, you could alternatively make your own capsules with Thieves Vitality oil. Just take once a day while you’re travelling.
If you’re not used to taking oils internally, start with 2-3 drops in a capsule, and increase by a drop or two each day until you are at your desired amount (which for Thieves Vitality oil would ideally be 5 to 10 drops in a capsule, once a day). Take with food if you have a sensitive stomach (and you can even add some V6 or olive oil into the capsule if you wish to).
Thieves Vitality essential oil blend is formulated with Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary, which provide immune support and cleansing properties when taken internally.*

3. Help….I need a shower, and so do my clothes!
Yep, that’s one of the things about spending 34 hours in the same set of clothes. I definitely noticed some underarm odour by the end of that as I walked into my hotel in Paris, and my clothes needed a good wash. That’s why (in addition to whatever extra oils I choose to bring with me), I always travel with the following in my checked-in bag:

- Thieves Laundry Soap
15ml of Thieves Laundry Soap will do one large wash of clothes, so just bring what you need, in a leak-proof plastic or glass container. Travel Tip: I clean out my empty Bloom Collagen bottles, and put my Thieves Laundry Soap into these. I’ve never had them leak on me. I always travel with a plastic tub containing my supplements and liquids, so that the outer strong plastic container provides extra protection against anything spilling or breaking in my luggage.
- Thieves Cleansing Bar Soap
This serves a triple purpose. It sits on the vanity for washing my hands. I carry it into the shower as my shower soap. It also works wonders for some extra scrubbing of the armpits of smelly clothes or any stains on clothes before putting them in the wash.
4. My other Thieves essentials
- Thieves Dish Soap
I use this for dish washing while I’m travelling. Travel Tip: I put Thieves Dish Soap into an empty small Thieves Hand Sanitizer bottle. It doesn’t leak, and that one bottle will usually last me the entire trip or more, since I only need a pea-sized amount to wash with. - Thieves Whitening Toothpaste
I take a small container of this (less than 100ml) in my hand luggage, and a tube in my checked-in luggage. It keeps my smile bright for any photo!

- Thieves Mouthwash
I’ll be honest. I do so many other things, I don’t use Thieves Mouthwash every day. But I still want to have it with me, just in case I need it. Travel Tip: I wash out a Thieves Spray bottle, and fill that with Thieves Mouthwash. That way I can spray it into my mouth any time I need some breath freshening. - Thieves Dental Floss
This one is easy…it is always with me in my handbag, just in case I get something stuck in my teeth and need a helping hand. And I know it’s healthy! You might be wondering why I say that. Wouldn’t all dental floss be healthy. In fact, that’s not true. A lot of commercial dental floss contains Teflon to get it to glide through your teeth (yuk!). Young Living’s Thieves Dental Floss uses bees wax and soy wax instead, plus it’s fortified with Thieves oil.
5. If you are venturing into the great outdoors, be prepared
This is where I’ll pack my Young Living products that are especially designed for those active days in the sun and in nature.

- Mineral Sunscreen
Our Mineral Sunscreen Lotion 50 PSF is perfect for all skin types. It contains non-nano zinc oxide and a blend of Young Living essential oils specifically designed by Gary Young. Formulated without avobenzone, oxybenzone, retinyl palmitate, parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, PABA and 1,4-dioxane, UV chemical absorbers, artificial colours or synthetic fragrances, this mineral sunscreen is reef-safe, helps prevent sunburn for all skin types (including sensitive skin), with its broad spectrum formula protecting your skin from UVA and UVB rays. - Outdoor Blend
Enjoy the beauty of nature, annoyance-free. The Outdoor Blend powerful formula is made without synthetic ingredients. Ninety-nine percent of the blend is made up of sesame oil and a combination of essential oils such as Citronella and Lemongrass, known for their use outdoors, while the remaining 1 percent is made of vitamin E. - Purification
Oh, my goodness, I love this oil. If ever I’m sitting outside at dusk, enjoying a beautiful meal or simply hiking, I will always have this on hand just in case to rub over my arms and legs. Like the Outdoor Blend, it’s a quick and easy solution to help me enjoy being outside, annoyance-free.
6. And of course there are my essential oils!!!
The longer I’ve been with Young Living, the more my oils have become like family to me. It’s really hard to choose which oils to take with me on a trip!!! For that reason, I focus on my collections. On this trip, I’ve taken all of these collections that I’ve listed below….but of course you can pick and choose according to your personal favourites:

- Oils Starter Bundle
The contents of this bundle are different depending on where you live. I’ll always bring my favourite oils from this bundle. In AU/NZ this bundle contains: Lavender, Peppermint, Frankincense, Orange and Lemon as single oils, and Panaway, RC, Thieves, DiGize, Valor, Peace & Calming and StressAway. You’ll notice that many of these oils have been mentioned already in this 2 part travel bulletin…simply because they are so foundational and versatile. I consider this the most important bundle to take when traveling.
- My 7 Oil Ritual
I do this every morning whether I’m at home or away, so these oils always make their way into my checked in luggage. They are: Valor, Sacred Mountain, Gathering, Gratitude, Sensation, Abundance and White Angelica.
- Raindrop Technique Collection
If I get tight muscles or just need some extra vitality or fortification, I will put 2 to 3 drops of each of my Raindrop Technique oils, and rub them on my upper or lower back (or both). I’ve been using oils topically for years, so I enjoy putting 3 drops on my upper back and 3 drops on my lower back of every Raindrop oil (that’s Valor, Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Wintergreen, Marjoram, AromaSiez and Peppermint). That’s 56 drops of oil on my back in one go. If you’re not used to using this much oil, start with a third or a half of that amount (ie. 2 to 3 drops in total of each oil), just so you don’t stir up any sort of release! Oils are powerful. It was lucky I brought my full Raindrop Technique Kit with me on this trip, as I met two gorgeous women in my team who were in need of a Raindrop Technique, so I’ve given two full Raindrop Techniques while I’ve been away. Travel Tip: As a simple alternative to taking the full Raindrop Kit, you could make up a Kitty Raindrop mix at adult human strength. That’s 8 drops of each of your Raindrop Technique oils into a tablespoon of V6 Massage Oil. Put that in an empty 15ml oils bottle with a roller top on it, and roller that up your spine each day. Depending on how long you are away, you might want to take a couple of these with you. - My Emotional Clearing &/or Feelings Kit
I always like to travel with a selection of oils for emotions. I find that being away on trips is a great time to connect with my inner world, and it’s natural that different emotions will be triggered by events on the trip. Most people would simply bring their Feelings Kit (that being Valor, Harmony, Present Time, Inner Child, Release and Forgiveness). However, on this trip I felt to take my full Emotional Clearing Technique oils, so I also included: 3 Wise Men, Dream Catcher, Hope, Joy, SARA, White Angelica and Grounding. If you’d like to know more about how to use these oils, check out my bulletin about Oprah the Camel, where I explain the full Emotional Clearing Technique.
