Pamper your hands, body, and home/office space with these 4 amazing products

1.11.2023

I trust you loved my last bulletin about the Thieves Dental Range. Today’s bulletin is part 2, where I want to take you on a journey through some of the other wonderful Thieves products that we can use for our personal care.

Of course, we’ve also got Thieves Dish Soap, Thieves Laundry Soap, Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak, Thieves Kitchen and Bathroom Scrub, Thieves Spray, Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier….the list goes on!!!!

But let’s just focus in today on the Thieves Range of products that can be used to keep your body and your personal (and office) space eco-friendly and delightfully aromatic!

It’s amazing how we’re exposed to potentially harmful chemicals in so many commercial personal care products that are sold today. In the US, one top brand of toothpaste even says on its box, “If more than a pea-sized amount is swallowed, contact your Poisons Control Centre immediately”. I’m definitely not putting that in my mouth!!! So it’s wonderful to know that there are natural, plant- and mineral-based alternatives out there. And even better, that they are so cost-effective.

And I’m going to challenge some of your senses with this first product. But before you screw up your nose, make sure you read the stories from our customers about this amazing toothpaste. I’d never use it as a toothpaste…..but guess what I do use it for?!?!?!? Lol….it will make your head spin! Enjoy!!!!

1. Thieves Dentarome Plus – for smelly armpits

I have been using Young Living’s toothpaste for my dental regime for over 20 years. I started with Dentarome Plus, which is still part of our range.

So after reading last week’s bulletin about our amazing Thieves Whitening Toothpaste, you may be wondering why I don’t use Thieves Dentarome Plus on my teeth. I could, and if I was traveling and just wanted to take 1 tube with me, of course I could use it. But Young Living has come a long way in developing toothpastes since those early days. The baking soda in Dentarome Plus is a beautiful quality, but it’s not as fine a grade as the baking soda used in subsequent toothpastes, so I find the Thieves Whitening Toothpaste much more gentle on my teeth.

BUT – I’d still never want to be without Thieves Dentarome Plus. Do you want to know why? It’s because it’s the BEST underarm deodorant I’ve ever found! Oh, eeewwwwkkkkk, you might say. But I invite you to keep a truly open mind, and try it. Why do I love it? Well, there are so many reasons. It’s:

I love Dentarome Plus so much that I ran an “Odour Experiment” in 2021. The experiment was simple. I asked participants to use the Dentarome Plus under one underarm, and Young Living’s regular underarm deodorant under the other underarm. Then they just needed to smell each armpit 24 hours later before showering. For 1 week they continued like this. For the 2nd week, they switched armpits (ie. Dentarome Plus went under the other armpit….just in case they had a natural odour difference between their pits).

Frankly, I was curious to know if other people would love it as much as I did….and guess what? They did!!!! 86% of people participating in The Odour Experiment voted the Dentarome Plus as their favourite underarm deodorant. It’s a definite “Must Try” – you’ll never look back.

Here’s what our customers have to say….

Maetreyii D. writes:

I did this experiment with my 12 year old son! Each day, he reminded us to apply the Dentarome Plus toothpaste under one armpit and the Citraguard Deodorant under the other. He plays soccer three days a week, so it was perfect for this experiment as he always comes home very, very sweaty! Each time he came home, we smelt each armpit and noticed the same results over and over!

The armpit where we applied Dentarome Plus Toothpaste did not have any smell. Absolutely NO smell. We were amazed by this result! It was a miracle!

The side where we applied Citraguard deodorant smelled nice when we first applied it, but by the end of the day the effectiveness wasn’t as long lasting as the toothpaste, and we could smell an unpleasant smell (although it’s better than if we didn’t use it at all).

Catherine W. writes:

For this experiment, I used the Valor Deodorant and Dentarome Plus toothpaste. I applied the products a couple of minutes after my morning shower, then did the sniff test just before my next shower.

At each sniff test the deodorant armpit always had an unpleasant sweaty smell, whereas the toothpaste had a very slight minty scent and sometimes the faintest sweaty smell, but was hardly noticeable.

I was very impressed with the Dentarome Plus toothpaste and will definitely continue using that rather than buying the deodorant in future. The cost of the toothpaste is much more economical than any of the deodorants which is a big plus, and it would last much longer than the roll-on deodorant as I only need a tiny amount – about half a pea size. Overall, the toothpaste is a clear winner for me!

Rach H. writes:

Toothpaste as a deodorant? Who would’ve thought!!!

Taking part in this crazy experiment was mind blowing!

I used Valor Deodorant under one arm (which I really liked) and Dentarome Plus toothpaste under the other, and the results were incredible!!!!

Both were great and left no odour on my shirt or on my skin…for 36 hours! But which one did I love best??? Boy oh boy, Dentarome Plus toothpaste wins hands down! It’s super easy and smooth as silk to apply (on hairy underarm days and on freshly shaven days), whereas the stick deodorant drags my delicate underarm skin, and after shaving this can be quite a sensitive area.

And I’m so surprised at how well it works as a deodorant! It actually blows my mind – I was not expecting this at all! It’s incredible! I started off using a pea-sized amount but quickly realised I only need a bit as small as a grain of rice. It applies to the skin so smoothly, it’s clear, and gives a fresh zesty underarm feeling with no residue at all.

So hands down, the multi-purpose Dentarome Plus wins, as it also doubles as a toothpaste! So Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU for this experiment! Essential oil infused, and ODOURLESS underarms and mouth!!

Jen G. writes:

In my early days with Young Living I had once tried the Dentarome Plus toothpaste as an underarm deodorant. Unfortunately I used too much, and it turned me off. So I thought I would give it another go for this experiment (making sure I used only the tiniest amount), and compared it with Citraguard deodorant.

I’ve been vegan for nearly 3 years. Young Living has many personal care products that are vegan…..except for deodorant! They all contain beeswax. Now I have a deodorant that is vegan, it’s economical, and it WORKS!!! I’m a convert – Thieves Dentarome Plus toothpaste is my new best friend!

In fact, there was NO odour at all!! My armpit was fresh all day, even with exercise….compared to Citraguard, which at times smelled like sweaty underarms mixed with deodorant!

2. Thieves Household Cleaner

So many allergies, skin issues, sinus problems and other health challenges can be traced to chemicals used around the home.

So why would you continue using toxic, chemical-laden commercial cleaning solutions when you have a natural, eco-friendly and cost-effective cleaner at your fingertips?

Thieves Household Cleaner is an all-purpose, highly concentrated cleaner made from 100% plant and mineral based ingredients. It’s completely biodegradable, and it’s safe for use in septic systems and biocycles. I know – because I have a biocycle, and the wonderful man who comes out to check my biocycle tells me that mine is one of the healthiest ones he’s seen. So I know that not only am I very healthy on the inside, but I’m also using products that are very gentle and kind on this septic-style system. No nasties go down my drains!

Thieves Household Cleaner comes in 2 different sizes. There’s a 426ml size, which makes up 14.2 litres of all-purpose cleaner, and a 1.8 litre refill which makes up 60 litres of all-purpose cleaner.

A capful goes such a long way, and when I’ve compared it to the cost of supermarket brands, the Thieves Household Cleaner typically works out more economical too!!!

For example, you can make up your own Window and Glass Cleaner by mixing 1 cap (10ml) of Thieves Household Cleaner with 6 drops of Thieves dish soap and 6 drops of Orange essential oil. In Australia, this works out at $1.25 for 500ml (excluding the cost of the container), compared with $3.25 for 500ml of Windex® Surface & Glass Cleaner.

Even better, you get to enjoy the beautiful aromas of therapeutic grade Cinnamon Bark, Lemon, Clove, Eucalyptus and Rosemary essential oils every time you use Thieves Household Cleaner!

Here’s how I make up my household cleaner spray:

I take a 500ml glass spray bottle (or you can use PET plastic if you are concerned about dropping a glass container). I put a funnel in the top of it, and pour 15ml (1 tablespoon) of Thieves Household Cleaner into the bottle. Then I add a concoction of my favourite oils, and I top up with water.

If I didn’t add the oils, this mix would cost me AUD$1.22 (excluding the reusable bottle). Now that’s a very inexpensive household spray.

So why do I add extra oils to it, given that it already has the Thieves oil blend in it? It’s simply because I love the aroma of it with other oils in there as well. My favourite combo is 6 drops each of Lavender, Orange and Lemon Myrtle oil. But some people prefer to use 6 drops each of Lemon, Peppermint and Thieves oil. So have fun making your own innovative oil concoctions!

Thieves Household Cleaner can also be used as an oven and grout cleaner, a stain remover, a floor wash, a window and glass cleaner, and even as a soft scrub. There are heaps of great recipes to be found online using Thieves Household Cleaner.

IMPORTANT!!!

As a common sense precaution, if you are using Thieves Household Cleaner on fabrics, carpets, dyed, porous, lacquered or wooden surfaces, make sure you spot test first.

3. Thieves Foaming Hand Soap

Cleanse your hands and condition your skin at the same time using our plant and mineral-based Thieves Foaming Hand Soap.

Blending Orange essential oil with the spicy Thieves essential oil blend, this is a gentle yet effective alternative to chemical soaps. And you get to enjoy the benefits of its other ingredients, which include: Aloe Vera juice, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (that’s the oil that comes from tea plants) and Vitamin E (as tocopheryl acetate). As with most of the Thieves range of products, this is a concentrate. So if you are on a budget, you can hack it up so it goes further!

All you need is an empty Thieves Foaming Hand Soap container. Fill it one-third using the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap Refill, and top it up with water. This works out at AU$5.50 and lasts for ages! Although personally, I confess I love the creaminess when I use it neat (without dilution).

Fiona M. writes:

I love using the Young Living products when we’re on our boat, knowing they do no harm to the marine life.

Hubby uses Thieves Foaming Hand Soap in the shower instead of regular soap. And once I forgot to bring shampoo, so I used the Foaming Hand Soap instead! It worked a treat – my hair was really soft afterwards!

Gemma F. writes:

The Thieves Foaming Hand Soap is my “go to” after any type of work in the garden or the great outdoors. If I’ve brushed up against a plant or gotten anything onto my skin, I just put 2 pumps on, rub it in, and leave it on. That’s right, I don’t wash it off! I even do this with my canine fur baby, rubbing the Thieves foaming hand soap onto his paws. It’s absolutely amazing! I wouldn’t be without it!

This is my “go-to” product for all of life’s adventures!

Franczesca M. writes:

My favourite soap by far is the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap! And the reason why? It sits next to the kitchen sink to rescue my hands after doing all those ‘Mum’ things, and you need clean hands before progressing onto the next task!

The advantages I have felt are that my hands don’t ever feel dry or chapped, I get clean fast from just one squirt, and I loooove the smell of spice.

Artemis writes:

I have to be really careful in my work as a wildlife rescuer to make sure I practice exceptional hygiene, so there’s no chance that diseases get passed between animals (or to me!).

Anytime I’m handling animals, whether it’s cats, birds or even snakes, I always clean my hands afterwards with either Thieves Foaming Hand Soap or Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier (and sometimes both!).

I’ve even managed to get “love bites” from pythons on a couple of occasions (I know, crazy hobby, right?), and have relied on this amazing product to disinfect and cleanse my hands. This, and a bit of Lavender or Purification oil to calm me down after my misadventure, and I’m as good as gold!

4. Thieves Cleansing Bar Soap

Sometimes it’s nice to have a bar soap rather than a foaming hand soap. It’s all personal preference. I love our Thieves Foaming Hand Soap, and always have a bottle on my kitchen and laundry sinks. But I like to use a bar soap when I’m showering, and the Thieves Cleansing Bar Soap is one of my favourites. It has a gentle but clean aroma, and combines Young Living’s Thieves essential oil blend with colloidal oatmeal and a luxurious, moisture-rich base.

Colloidal oatmeal is a gentle natural exfoliator, helping to remove dirt and excess oil without drying our skin, while the soap itself is made from a base of olive, coconut, jojoba, and wolfberry seed oils and five premium essential oils to replenish hydration to thirsty skin.

It’s an absolute winner for our hands….and it makes an excellent and effective stain remover (so it’s perfect to have in the laundry for those stubborn marks). But don’t just take my word for it!

Sharon L. writes:

After someone told me to try the Thieves Soap Bar for stain removal and reading about it in the “350+ Ways To Use Thieves” book, I just had to try it for hubby’s golf shirts. All I can say is….WOW!!!

This (see ‘before’ pic below) was the result of him using sunscreens on his neck (not Young Living sunscreen I will add)!!! A quick scrub in the affected area with the Thieves Soap and voila – the stain is gone!

I love how versatile our products are, and my hands smelt amazing after this (which was an added bonus)!!!
